The Children’s Outreach Director will provide spiritual direction and full management of THRIVE nature based Out-of-School Care Program according to the vision, goals and standards set out by THRIVE, Community Gospel Chapel and Island Health Licencing Authority.
The Children’s Outreach Director will create bridges and instigate relationship-building opportunities between the chapel congregation and Thrive families, assisting in bridging programs that bridge Thrive kids and their families to other church ministries. The Children’s Outreach Director will also create bridges between the partner church/ Thrive with the greater community through events and community involvement.
The Ideal candidate will be passionate to be part of the team of the local church, exemplifying passion, energy, and ability to lead children in outdoor recreation and faith-based settings.
Full time salary based on $22-25/hr with group benefits, performance raises, growth & retention bonuses.

Horse camp assistants will support groups of day camp children participating in Horse Camp day trips. The horse camp assistants will learn and lead under the guidance of the ranch director for the care of horses, assisting kids in emotional support, guiding kids in riding, grooming, and hand-leading children that require support in riding exercises. Thrive program staff are energetic, outdoorsy adults 19 or older who have previous experience leading children in faith-based group settings. Generally, program staff work approximately 21 hours per week, Monday to Friday afternoons. Program staff start at $17.00-$20.00 per hour depending on qualifications. Program leaders lead and mentor groups of school-age children in activities and out trips while ensuring the health and safety and personal development of their group also supporting the manager in program planning and indoor and outdoor facility maintenance.

Thrive Kids Canada is opening their first nature-based program for three to five-year-olds but can’t get going until we have quality ECE managers and staff who can passionately lead missional, nature-based childcare that encourages exploration and year-round outdoor play.
This Full-time position will work 40 hours per week between the hours of 7am - 6pm, Monday through Friday. Flexibility of the successful applicant’s personal schedule is required to ensure area needs are met.
